Resize changes the actual page dimensions (the MediaBox) and scales or repositions content to fit the new size. Crop sets a visible area (CropBox) that hides margins without changing the underlying page dimensions. Use resize when you need a different page size; use crop when you want to trim edges.

Fit to Page scales your content proportionally so the entire original page fits within the new dimensions. If the aspect ratios differ, there may be white margins on two sides — but no content is lost or cropped.
