Terms of Service
Last updated: March 16, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using NeatPDF ("the Service"), operated by NeatPDF ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service, whether through a free account or a paid subscription.
2. Service Description
NeatPDF provides online PDF tools including, but not limited to: PDF compression, merging, splitting, rotation, format conversion (PDF to/from JPG, PNG, Word), and a browser-based PDF editor with features such as text search, annotations, and redaction.
Many operations are performed directly in your browser. Some operations may require server-side processing, in which case your files are temporarily uploaded, processed, and automatically deleted as described in Section 4.
3. User Accounts
You may use certain features of the Service without creating an account. To access additional features or higher usage limits, you may need to register for an account.
When you create an account, you must provide accurate and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
We offer the following account types:
- Free: 3 tasks per day, 50 MB file size limit, no signup required
- Day Pass: Full Pro access for 24 hours
- Pro: Unlimited tasks, expanded file size limits, and premium features
4. User Content & File Handling
Your files are yours. We do not claim any ownership rights over the files you upload or process through the Service.
Files uploaded for server-side processing are automatically deleted within 1 hour of processing completion. We do not retain copies of your files beyond this period.
We do not use your files to train AI models or for any purpose other than providing the Service.
Where possible, file processing occurs entirely within your browser and your files never leave your device.
You are solely responsible for the content of your files. You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights to upload and process the files you submit.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
- Upload files containing malware, viruses, or other harmful content
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
- Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access the Service
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
- Circumvent usage limits, rate limiting, or other access controls
- Share your account credentials with others or allow unauthorized access
- Upload content that infringes on intellectual property rights of others
6. Fees & Billing
The Service offers a free tier with limited usage (3 tasks per day, 50 MB file size limit). No signup is required for free usage. All compression levels are available on the free tier, with no ads, no watermarks, and no page limits.
Paid plans are available at the following prices (subject to change with notice):
- Day Pass: $3.99 for 24 hours of full Pro access
- Pro Monthly: $12 per month
- Pro Annual: $99 per year
Pro subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless canceled before the renewal date. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you will retain access until then.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full credit card information on our servers.
We reserve the right to change our pricing with at least 30 days' notice. Price changes will not affect your current billing period.
7. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, code, features, and branding, is owned by NeatPDF and protected by intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks, logos, or brand elements.
You retain all ownership rights to the content you upload and process through the Service. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your content.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We do not warrant the accuracy or completeness of any output produced by the Service.
You are responsible for maintaining your own backups. We recommend keeping original copies of all files before processing.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, NeatPDF shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption.
Our total liability for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the fees you paid to us in the three (3) months preceding the claim, or (b) one hundred dollars ($100).
10. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. You may delete your account through your account settings or by contacting us.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, including if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
Sections 7 through 12 shall survive termination of these Terms.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you should stop using the Service.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.
